Do not trust the Big Fool! Improve your IT Innovation

This entry is necessarily short. The primary idea in the background is quite easy and it is focused on IT companies: Do not spend your money on stupid ideas about fantastic science-fictional integral systems that are solving all your problems. Moreover, these type of guys will promise you it will be not possible but incredibily easy to mass-producing multi-device applications so-mo-lo, lo-mo-so or whichever similar stupideness in that fashion.
Be aware! This is simply a vulgar hoax. Usually this kind of proposals are a sum of superficial, poorly worked and out of focus pseudo-ideas. What they are actually pretending is having a big budget to plant the seed of a private unacknowledged personal project.
In the meanwhile, solid proposals around improvement of SDLC, software building, Continuous Whatever often are relegated as secondary actions, with a ridiculous budget assigment and teams with very few members. Furthermore, they are quite busy during  most of time.
Honestly, I think this is the way to perdition for Innovation actions in a decent company. The factors that are occurring for such a situation like described are:

1-The presence of the guilty guy: The "successful-charming-young" criminal. He is claiming he cannot produce the super-terrific product until the budget and circumstances (a specialized team, a place apart from the common horrible and ugly rest of developers, beautiful and expensive Apple computers with several screens for each workstation). Actually, he is usually blocking any real innovation initiative until he gets what he really wants.
2-The absence of technical staff in the executive of companies. If someone up in the ski would know what is the charming guy is talking about probably the situation would be different.
3-Companies want change their old-fashioned conservative look and image in order to appear as an improved innovative but solid company. Instead of creating solid initiatives based on investigation and preliminary scientific work companies prefer give the money to charlatans. Yes, it is terrible but true most of times.

Definitely this fella is a moron..

My conclusion. Companies! Do not believe all stories about the place you will magically reach in the modern age in a single shot by spending a lot of critically needed money in the stupid super-cool project of the Big Fool. All is usually only smoke.
Improvement of your SDLC areas will be a work of group by encouraging solid well-proofed initiatives from your engineering staff. Believe me when I say they are much smarter than you can think. Set the foundations for a new technical structure for your company. Consider below factors:

1-Spend short amounts of budget in key initiatives affecting critical parts in the SDLC in the mid-long term. Evaluate task accomplishment. Evaluate and measure objectives.
2-Set solid practices as Continuous Delivery, Continuous Testing, Deployment. Be continuous, be automatic, make releases as frequent and boring as you can.
3-Make an extensive use of modern and more efficient VCS (eg Git), setting a versatile PaaS/IaaS for your projects and sections.
4-Enter the cloud in a wider way. Be more efficient, be agile, be lighter, be smarter.
5-Train people, train managers, update business man.
6-Learn to exclude financial guys from this type of decisions.
7-Apply on real projects. Work with the people in the trenches.

Considering above factors is very probable the company will survive the next innovation cycle. The secret is: Do not believe in modern cool clowns!
